Description
The QA/QC Manager is responsible for ensuring that the quality management system (QMS) is fully implemented in an organized and efficient manner. The QA/QC Manager is responsible for delegating and assigning tasks to QA/QC Supervisors and working closely with related engineering, construction, fabrication, and repair departments.
Objective:
- Document the results and make recommendations on how to prevent errors or defects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee project quality to ensure compliance to codes, standards, regulations, specifications, and QMS requirements.
- Manage the development and implementation of the QMS for planning, inspection, documentation, and construction activities.
- Prepare the project QA manual control and supervise all amendments and revisions.
- Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system and recommend improvements when required.
- Implement the project audit scheduled for all multi-disciplinary systems and process on the construction task force including sub-contractors at the jobsites.
- Develop and review of the Project Quality program documentation manuals, work process and reporting of quality records management of quality documents.
- Deliver audit assessment findings to the management and evaluate the need for any corrective/ preventative action.
- Assess sub-contractors’ capabilities to meet the quality requirements of the project as required.
- Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.
- Responsibility for the performance of all inspections and testing activities as defined by the contract.
- Confirm that the contractors’ obligations for testing and record keeping are adhered to.
- Control calibrated measuring and test equipment used on the project.
- Maintain the project quality records for the construction phases and quality audit plans, performance, and management thereof.
- Establish and manage a field document control system for construction drawings, specifications, test and inspection reports, vendor data and as-built drawings.
- Perform evaluations of subcontractors’ facilities to determine their capabilities in meeting the quality requirements.
- Conduct periodic Quality Program training for site supervisory personnel.
- Monitor all quality related activities on the project.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- University degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ Experience as Quality Lead or Coordinator.
- Minimum 7 years’ Experience in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Design, or Construction Testing.
- Experience with a variety of Non-destructive testing; Visual, Ultrasonic, Acoustic Emission, Radiography, Leak, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, and the evaluation of results.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legal standards and quality control procedures.
- Experienced with Document Management Systems.
- Member of Charted Quality Institute (CQI), American Society for Quality (ASQ) or similar is preferred.
- Audit Management qualified (Lead Auditor).
- Strong computing skills with office software packages and software e.g., MS Office, SharePoint, Teams, Power BI, Microsoft Access (or equivalent).
- Fluent in (spoken and written) English.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with multi disciplines.
- Demonstrated communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
